Account books, 1827-1877. They consist of a personal account book, 1827-1856, recording expenses for farm work, produce, ox hire, seed, building work, etc., plus bills for boarding various people at James Carragan's tavern at Cady Hill in Saratoga Springs, which he leased from Townsend; a ledger of accounts with various persons, including the estate of Absalom Townsend (probably Townsend's father), 1828-1859; accounts of sales by Asa B. Meach of lots in Great Lot No. 50, 5th Ward, Buffalo, under contract with Absalom Townsend and Charles D. Townsend (probably his brother); a ledger of the estate of Charles D. Townsend, including many references to the Buffalo property, 1847-1854; a ledger of accounts of the estate of Absalom Townsend, 1861-1877. There are a few accounts dated 1803 and 1804 at the beginning of the 1827-1856 account book.
